How Funding Works

The Australian Government provides a Support at Home subsidy to help cover the cost of your services. This budget is released in quarters.
Real Caring will work with you to develop a budget and service plan that fits within your allocated funding.

To ensure you receive ongoing, high-quality care, 10% of your Support at Home subsidies are set aside for Care Management activities. This includes:

  • Regular service and care plan reviews

  • Face-to-face visit with your Care Partner (if applicable)

  • Coordination between providers

  • Safety and quality monitoring

  • Communication and support for you and your family.

If you do not use all of your Support at Home subsidy, you can keep 10% or $1,000 (whichever is greater) of your subsidy amount. The remaining funds are returned to the Government.

Real Caring will work with you to budget and plan your services carefully, ensuring your funding is used effectively and in line with your care plan so you can get the most benefit from your package.

Support at Home Co-Contributions

Under the Support at Home program, participants are required to make co-contributions towards the cost of their services. The table below outlines which service categories require a contribution and the types of costs you may need to pay. The Department will notify you directly of your exact co-contribution amount.
